4x2 with foot issues
25 Oct 2003 — 8.0 miles — Mizuno Wave Creation
I originally wanted to put in a 4x3 for 12 miles but after the second loop, the bottom of my foot was hurting. I will take a few days off so that I don't aggravate the injury and screw up my next race.

The morning started off very rough. I missed my exit and headed in the wrong direction and got lost because I was worried I'd be late for my 10-mile race. The jitters caused me to take a huge detour and I arrived after the runners had already started. Luckily I was able to find parking near the starting line and the race had been going for only 2 minutes. I got started and I was feeling great. »
Ouch!

Something just ain't right. I did my usual 4 mile loop and wasn't feeling good all the way up and down my left leg. Oh well, I'll rest it up and hopefully Sunday's race won't be too bad.
Run in Rain

I had a late lunch and topped it off with carrot cake. When I got home, it was starting to rain and I thought it'd be a great time for a run, so I headed to the lake. I put in just one four loop and it felt nice to have the cool drops hitting the whole time.
Greenbelt

I haven't been to the Greenbelt in a while to run so I decided to head that way when traffic in downtown sounded bad. I did a total of 4.5 miles but only ran about 3 of it. I was trying to push myself hard where the trail would allow (it is rather rocky in spots). I think this workout helped the soreness from the race on Sunday. I feel a lot better after this run, especially since I don't feel shin pain.

I'm glad this one is over. My legs were tight and it's obvious that they aren't in the shape they should be. My endurance was ok but that could use some work, too.
It's one down and six to go. I'm just going to pretend like Decker isn't right around the corner :)
